Tub-to-shower conversions
Replace a tub you no longer use with a shower that is easier to step into.
The tub comes out, the wall is rebuilt and waterproofed, and a new base and tile go in. A low-step or walk-in shower is a different job from a tub swap, and the worksheet tells us which you want.
What's included
The tub removed and the floor repaired
A new shower base, drain and valve
Waterproofing and tile, floor to ceiling
Niches, benches and grab-bar blocking
A door or curtain rod, as you choose

Cost
What changes the cost
No figure here, because the room sets it. These are the things that move it.
Step height
A walk-in shower needs the floor lowered, which changes the framing.
Shower size
Standard tub openings are smaller than most showers.
The valve
Replacing it often means opening the wall behind.
Tile and glass
Choose them in the worksheet, so they're priced.

Questions about this work
Can the shower be made easier to step into?
Yes. A low-step or curbless shower is possible in many bathrooms, depending on the floor beneath. We check at the design meeting.
Is it done in one week?
We give the schedule in the estimate. Waterproofing and tile need drying time that we won't hurry.
